These are a Few of my Favorite Things…

Favorite Things

I recently updated both of my websites and my favorite thing I added (pun intended) was the list of My Favorite Things. So today, I have decided to unpack my current  top 3 items on this list and take you down the rabbit hole of my brain.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear- Elizabeth Gilbert

Y’ALL… This book is my go to read. I have now read it 3 times and every single time, it revives me as an artist. My favorite part of the book is the section entitled “The Road Map.” I actually keep  the book next to my bed with a bookmark in this section so I can read it when I am in the middle of a particularly rough day. I also love how it goes hand in hand with The Artist’s Way, so basically, you should read both of them :)

The Power of Vulnerability- Brene Brown TED Talk

This is my most watched TED Talk of all time. There are over 50 million views, and I am fairly certain that AT LEAST 1,000 of them are me. I am obsessed with all of Brene Brown’s books, but since this video is what started me down the rabbit hole, this is what I am choosing to share today. PLEASE WATCH IT and then send me an email with all of your thoughts so we can obsess together.

The Artist's Way- Julia Cameron

Full disclosure: I’ve never made it through this entire book at one time. I have been through the entire book multiple times, just never in one long stretch- and everyone I have talked to is in the same boat. That being said, it still is one of the most impactful pieces of literature I have ever laid my hands on. I received my personal copy when I was in high school, and now I have pages falling out. The best thing about this book is that it grows with you. Every time I pick it up, I magically find exactly what I need. You MIGHT even call it Big Magic… (sorry I couldn’t resist).

I hope that you find yourself enjoying something on this list, and please please PLEASE reach out if you ever want to chat about what is currently inspiring you!

Disclaimer: Nothing in this post is sponsored, I am just genuinely obsessed with all of them!
