In the next installment of Top 4 for 4, I wanted to talk about my favorite TED Talk videos. Each of these speakers and each of these subjects hit close to home with the work that I do, and I wanted to share these words with you. Hopefully, you gain a new perspective from at least one of these!

The power of vulnerability | Brené Brown - YouTube

“Connection is why we are here.” If you are not aware of Brene Brown, you should be. She is an incredible author, an intelligent speaker, and simply put an icon. Brown talks about how her research led her on a personal journey to learn more about herself and understand humanity.

The happy secret to better work | Shawn Achor - YouTube

In this fast-paced TED Talk, Shawn Achor tackles one of the biggest questions about work. Does work make us happy, or does happiness cause increased productivity? This 12 minutes video is a quick watch, but it is truly worthwhile content. This totally changed my outlook and sparked my interest in positive psychology.

How great leaders inspire action | Simon Sinek - YouTube

Even though this TED Talk was recorded in 2010, Simon Sinek’s message still rings true. He spends his time discussing how companies like Apple and leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. were so effective in their pursuits. This is the introduction to the “Start with Why” framework.

How burnout makes us less creative | The Way We Work, a TED series - YouTube

Rahaf Harfoush quickly and beautifully discusses a personal experience of burnout. She believes that our obsession with productivity is making us less productive. Harfoush wants us to build our days around creativity instead of work. This 5-minute video could change how you view your work.
